A note of gratitude from me to you 💌

In This Season of Gratitude 🍂
Hi friend,
Last weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I'm just so humbled by how much there is to be grateful for in spite of it all.
If you've been following along our emails and our socials, you'll know that we've definitely had a whirlwind of transitions: from packing and moving our own home to system hiccups, to new and challenging launches, then to shipping limitations that ultimately pushed us to move a portion of our inventory down to the USA so that we can better serve our customers there. Many times, I've felt so hard pressed on every side, as I juggled being a wife, a mama, a small business owner, and also trying to find some space for myself, too.
This past week, I've had such meaningful conversations with many of you about the direction of Written Word. This is something that has been at the core of WW, that we want to make sure our customers are being heard when we create new products or change directions. We're prayerfully considering many of these things in our next steps.
When I was 18, I had a knee injury that required surgery
I was cross-training post-season with my teammates, and tore my ACL in the process. As a freshman student athlete, that was heart-wrenching for me to be out of commission. But God opened doors for me - we immediately was able to schedule reconstructive surgery, and my university had an amazing rehabilitation program that really helped my healing. It was humbling, as a sprinter, to learn how to walk, balance, run again. But in many ways it gave me a clean slate to improve my form and remove some bad habits. On the eve of my physical exam so that I could resume training with my team, God impressed this verse to me, Habakkuk 3:17-19, and it's a verse that I've carried with me in the many seasons of my life.
As I run my first marathon this weekend, I'm tucking this verse in my heart as well as writing it on my arm haha. This year, I went back to running and while I've enjoyed training, I've also enjoyed worshipping in the many long runs I've done. It's been quite a journey, learning to surrender every step of my run and my business to He who has brought us here.
