Embracing the unexpected 🍂

My First Trip Without the Kids
Hi friend,
the past week, I had the chance to go on a solo trip - first time without the kids. I honestly didn't think I'd ever do this in this season of life, especially with my 3 year old daughter who is a little koala bear. It's a season that I definitely treasure with my whole heart, but it is definitely a loud and busy time that I do crave the silence and even the joy of being able to sit down without anyone needing me.
So it definitely felt odd to head to the airport, all by myself, to pack snacks just for me, to pull out the Calligraphy Travel Kit and my brand new watercolor palette, and paint at my leisure. I got to quietly wander through the bustling airports, shop (of course for the kiddos), and ponder and reflect on Written Word's next steps, especially for next year.
By the way, I really enjoyed this watercolor palette. I had the Winsor and Newton one before but the colors on this one were spot on, and I loved the little sponges on the side and that the space for the palette got to sit right on top of the paints when I close it. I packed it in the travel kit, along with my pens and inks, slanted guide notepad, and so much more.

Beautiful Fall

I've been thoroughly enjoying the fall foliage these days here in Vancouver, I think it's because this time around we didn't get too much wind so a lot of the leaves have been staying on the trees, and especially with running, I get to go out and enjoy my stunning views every single time, rain or shine. Praise God for His amazing creation

Also, just in case you haven't yet checked out our beautiful Fall Collection - it's perfect for this season! I've been seeing acorns everywhere on the ground, squirrels scurrying about gathering as many as they can, mushrooms sprouting every time after rain, of course all the beautiful fall leaves, I had turkey this past weekend for our belated friends-giving, and we've got a beautiful collection of pumpkins and gourds to decorate our front door. Embracing this season with all the wax seals!
Just wanted to also say thank you to all of you who had sent me email responses and have been praying for us at Written Word. The past few weekends have been quite enlightening for me to say the least and I am so amazed to see how God is leading us in different ways as we navigate these next steps in the business. More news to come in the next little while!
With gratitude,
Karla
