What carried me through the storm 🌊

Recently, C and I Celebrated Our 11th Anniversary
My parents watched the kids while the two of us got to go out and try a new restaurant together. When I shared a little bit of our story + my hubby's health journey, I honestly didn't expect so many of you to reach out. Thank you, your messages truly meant the world to me.
A few of you asked, "How did you cope through it all?" or "what tools/coping skills did you learn on your journey?"
I was very grateful that I found a really good Christian counsellor that helped me process my feelings and also learn some coping skills. I remember in one of the sessions she had suggested to do something tactile that helps calm me and ground me - and I don't know how I could've forgotten (maybe all the mental fog and lack of sleep at that point), that I started Written Word by practicing writing His Word.
So I Began to Write Again
I hadn't been doing calligraphy for a while because my hands had been so full with taking care of baby, and Clement had to be in the hospital for hyperbaric treatment and was away for 5-6 hours a day. I asked my mom and my MIL to come help me with Chase even for just a few hours in a day. And in those times, where I would go outside to get some fresh air, or take a few moments to sit in God's Word reminding me of His promises, that I was not alone, I started my path in healing.
The flow of the ink, the feel of the nib on the paper, the slight changes in pressure, the sound of my breath, the word itself, help ground me and center me in the storm of anxiety and emotion.
A few years later, I wrote those exact same verses for you in the Anxiety to Hope Worksheets and Motherhood Worksheets.

And That's Why I Continue to Write
Did you know? "Written Word" was a name impressed upon me by God as I've always found solace in writing God's Word, and the marriage of calligraphy and His Word is a form of worship and meditation. And I continue to create these traceable worksheets, or these courses, so I can share with you the joy and peace I've personally found in calligraphy.
