What I wish I knew when I started calligraphy
Hi friend!
If there's one thing I've always struggled with - it's slowing down. Even right now, as I am training for a marathon... a huge part of it is learning to run easy and to pace yourself, to get the miles in first before the speed.
So when I was looking through some of my early practice books in calligraphy, I saw words before I saw basic strokes and letter practice.
Andย also, when I was starting out, I didn't realize that there were so many different kinds of calligraphy and of course that also meant all sorts of toolsย ย - that's why I also didn't know exactly which ones to get before (see my Michaels fail video here).
Looking back now (12+ years later): there's so much I wish I knew when I started
