Featuring Our Retailers

We had to pause our blog series for a while as we were running at lower capacity for several weeks, but now we're back with our third retailer feature!

In this series, we talk a about our retailers and their store in the hope you discover a local business you could visit and support. We ask the shop owners to answer a couple of questions so we, and you, can know them a little bit better! So far, we have featured Paper Tree, and The Mailroom. 

Up Next: The Paper Mouse

It's time to put an American retailer in our spotlight. Meet Jenny who is the woman behind The Paper Mouse. Located in Newton, MA, Jenny and her husband Victor have been offering our products in their stationery shop since summer 2023. 

Can you tell us a bit about your store and what you sell?

The Paper Mouse is a curated stationery and gift shop in the heart of West Newton Square. We are a cozy nook for exploration and discovery, featuring playful goodies that inspire curiosity and practical tools to fill every need. From our card wall with greetings for every occasion, to our pen and pencil bar overflowing with writing instruments, to our spread of notebooks in every shape and size, we do our best to provide just the thing you need – plus a few you didn’t know you were looking for.

How did you start your store?

The shop was a new beginning for my husband and me in 2015 after life changes prompted us to rethink what mattered to us. Victor had always longed to start his own business in his hometown of Newton, MA and I had had a passion for stationery since I was young. We decided to put our talents together and create a shop where we could connect with our community and celebrate daily life through writing, giving and receiving.

And thus The Paper Mouse was born. We transformed a narrow little space in West Newton Square into a cozy shop and began filling it with the things we love.

What is unique about the store or do you have any cool services you provide?

Our wish when we opened The Paper Mouse was to create a unique destination for the community to visit, a place that brought feelings of joy and fond memories of childhood. Stationery has a knack for conjuring up these old fond memories whether it’s a fountain pen that your grandfather showed you when you were young, a stack of composition notebooks that reminded you of your days in school, or thank you notes that you wrote to your family.

What is your favourite color or items you love?

My favorite colors are sunny yellow and ocean blue (warm and peaceful) and I love anything in miniature size.
