Harper's Bazaar: Black Vellum and Handmade Paper Invitation / Haiku Mill Wedding
Received an email last night that Xiao+Matt’s wedding has been featured on Harper’s Bazaar, and we couldn’t be more excited! @mandygracedesigns said it well... i truly miss creating for destination weddings, seeing this stunning wedding reaffirmed why I love what I do. “Xiao and Matt married their love of travel, adventure and style (and fashion, with a 40lb wedding dress by @krikorjabotian), in an epic wedding in Maui, that even called engagement shoots all over the world and a dress trip to Beirut!” Every single detail was brought together by an amazing dream team. I still remember when @khco.events approached me for this wedding and shared the inspiration board. X+M really wanted to see a beautiful culmination of cultures and an ode to the Maui setting, so we incorporated all sorts of loose florals, Sichuan peppercorns, orchids into their modern romantic monogram. The custom tablescapes with moody gray tones, the textural elements, was brought together by handmade paper, black vellum, natural paper twine. Champagne was the choice of color to create a timeless, elevated feel instead of the usual gold. Ornately flourished calligraphy style paired with classic serif text to complement @haikumill’s atmosphere. Read more about this stunning wedding here.
