How to Make Wax Seals

If you've ever wondered how to use a wax seal stamp and how to make wax seals look good, you're in the right place. This guide covers everything you need to get started, including the supplies you'll need, different methods for melting wax, and helpful tips for creating professional-looking wax seals with ease.

In terms of creating wax seals, you'll need: wax seal stamp of choice, a heat source, a surface to create the wax seals on, and of course wax.

Different Kinds of Wax Seals

At Written Word, we offer 3 different kinds of wax seals:

  • Brass Wax Seal - one side has an engraving, and the other is blank. The diameter is 0.8inches, and is made of all brass.
  • 3D Custom Shape - features a 3D sculpted design, with a removable head and wooden handle.
  • 9mm mini heads - each head is 9mm diameter, and is typically attached to a double-sided handle. The handle is created to hold two wax seal heads.

Glue Gun Method

Creating wax seals using the glue gun allows you to create many at once, and you can pick and choose the one you like best. You can also apply the wax directly onto the paper, or attach it later with double-sided stickers.

Build your own Mini Wax Seal Starter Kit by choosing which wax heads, which wax beads you'd like to include in your bundle. The kit itself includes a dual-sided wax silicon mat, a wax spoon and handle, a tealight, and a handle for the heads.

Wax Seal Beads

These are perfect for mixing colors using our wax spoon. Each pack contains 100 wax beads, which can make approximately 50 1" seals, depending on size and usage. Melt 2-3 beads per seal, depending on how large you would like the seal to be. Best used with our wax seal stove, or wax seal spoon!
