Life is truly fleeting.

Honestly I couldn't believe the news when it came out on Sunday. I truly thought it was a hoax. I have been composing my story about why I write, and then hearing about Kobe's passing was a shock. My dad is a big basketball fan and still play lots till this day, especially in the Philippines where it was so huge, and being an athlete myself - I had a glimpse of what it was like to have such a busy sport life. Reading about the tough times he had with his family and marital issues, and learning about the struggles with having enough time for family while being such an outstanding player must’ve been so hard. Truly, the only thing we can do is to try and inspire.

We are but grass in the field. The wind blows over it and it is gone.

It’s what we leave behind, our legacy, that would last. I think he did a pretty good job of that. Sharing this quote that he said a while back, because it couldn’t have rang more true today.
